Its Important to be Well Read
Reading up on your subject and subjects not directly related to your profession is important. Having a wide knowledge base keeps you informed, up to date and interesting. Keeping your knowledge up to date will help you win new contracts.
Great advice Hannah. I have lots of books on my shelves but I need to allocate time to read them! Brian Tracy suggests getting up an hour earlier in the morning and using theis “golden hour” for reading. I think that’s a great idea – I managed half an hour this morning so I will try to keep up that at least. I find it easier to read then than in the evening when I want to be reading a novel. By the way, charity shops, especially Oxfam, are great sources of cheap business and other books – some of them in pristine condition!
